WOODWORKS ACGI Encore Acoustical Panels

July 29, 2024

Architects at Clark Nexsen created a large, tessellated wood wall in the Fitts-Woolard building at NC State. This element creates visual interest and controls noise at the 4-story structural staircase.
The WOODWORKS acoustical panels are available in different groove sizes, spacing and intersecting perforations on the backside for increased sound absorption. The wood panels can be curved or flat, large-format or linear planks.

“The wood walls also play an important role in controlling noise, as they are an acoustic treatment panel that helps mitigate unwanted sound in the open spaces which contain hard finish materials including terrazzo, glass, metal deck, and drywall,” said Shann Rushing, Principal, Clark Nexsen.
